The second semester is well underway
and students are immersed in their studies. Experience tells us
that the third nine week grading period is often the most difficult.
Please continue to support your child in his or her studies and
contact the school if you have any concerns or questions.

The following information
is in reference to the testing.
The LEAP testing dates have been
revised by the Louisiana State Department of Education to include
March 23, 2010, for administering the LEAP English Language Arts
Writing and Mathematics constructed-response items. The remainder
of the iLEAP/LEAP tests will be administered later in the school
year as scheduled during the week of April 12th. This change permits
the time needed for scoring of the writing portions and allows
student results to be returned prior to the close of school. It
is imperative that all students take the scheduled tests on the
assigned dates.
As we progress into the warmer
spring months many of our students look forward to the excitement
of the school year winding down and plans for the summer. Continue
to talk with your child about the importance of remaining Pitcher
Proud – prepared, respectful, owning one’s actions,
understanding differences, and defining themselves and their future.
The choices they make today often have far-reaching effects. Your
daily conversations and guidance are invaluable. I thank you for
the opportunity you have provided for us to be a part of your
child’s life and am grateful that we can partner together
to help them to be successful. Please feel free to contact me
with any concerns, questions, celebrations, etc. As always, we
continue to strive to be an effective and engaging school community.
