Discipline

In addition to schoolwide expectations, we adhere to St. Tammnay Parish School Board Discipline Policies. A copy of the students handbook can be found at http://www.stpsb.org/files/handbookstudentsparents.pdf

Pitcher Junior High has adopted a Positive Behavior Support Policy that encourages students to follow school expecations, work toward being indepedent, lifelong learners and to understand how to be good citizens in their school and home communities.

Students who demonstrate our PROUD philosophy have the opportunity to earn Panther Bucks to be used to purchase rewards of their choice. Any faculty member also has the opportunity to give a PROUD PAW to a student they feel excels in these expectations. These students will be recognized on our weekly broadcast. In addition, each 9 weeks, we hold a PBS reward day to honor those students who have received no infractions.

Students are expected to follow the PROUD Expectations during all times at school and at school functions. Failure to meet the expectations will result in a teacher or adminstrator following our PBS log form to submit conseneces when behaviors are not showing improvement.

1st Offense- warning, restate expectation for student

2nd Offense- restate expectation, call home to notify parent

3rd offense, restate expectation, alternative assignment to be completed by student and signed by parent

4th offense- referral to administration
